After graduating GNS, I went to Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire for 2 years,then transferred and finished degrees in both Elementary Ed and Nursing from Adelphi University in Garden City. I worked as a Pediatric Nurse, then Psychiatric Nurse at North Shore Hospital in Manhasset. I then worked at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn in Pediatric Cardiology. Continuing the acting (for fun) I did in college,I took courses in the city, and did play the part of a delivery room nurse in the soap opera "Another World". Then my dreams came true--After being married in 1981, my daughter, Brooke, was born in 1985-now a Freshman at college in Rhode Island. My son,Austin, made my dreams complete when he was born in 1988-now 15, a sophomore in H.S.
Unfortunately, my dreams of "happily ever after" came to a close in 1992. Realizing divorce was imminent--I decided to persue another dream--working in childrens television. I envisioned walking through the newly renovated Kaufman Astoria Studios revolving doors, determined,(with true Rebel spirit!)to have a new career on the other side. 14 years later I have worked on over 30 feature films and over 100 commercials, along with numerous music videos. I work as a Nurse, for babies, and children on set--as well as Tutor and Babywrangler--working with the director closely to complete the storyboarded shots-on jobs like Huggies, Johnson and Johnson, Nickelodeon
I've even worked on a commercial,Nat'l Drug Council PSA-- that aired during Superbowl 2003!!-- with fellow Rebel Annie Loring's ad agency! We spent the day talking about the reunion!!!Congrats again Annie!! I did start in childrens TV,working 6 seasons on the PBS,"Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" show.I've been with the major Motion Picture Union since 1998,also for major stunts,such as "Spiderman".
With credits on numerous jobs,such as recently,"Two Weeks Notice",HBO's "Angels In America"--I just finished 4 months on a remake of "The Manchurian Candidate",with Denzel Washington and Meryl Streep.
I'm involved in 2 fundraisers annually-One,"A Taste of the Gold Coast" a food and wine tasting at local mansions that support scholarships for graduating seniors.The other for the local Boys and Girls club.I'm a real homebody,I love to knit by the fire,go to the gym,take long walks on the beach.I've joined a local Yacht Club in town and enjoy boating, great sunsets and year round parties with great friends!!I'm so happy to re-connect with all of you Rebels--We shared a unique generation! I am grateful everyday for the dreams I have accomplished--To live in this beautiful, peaceful, waterfront town, my children, 2 cats--wonderful family and friends. I look forward to future dreams-writing childrens books, travel and finding someone to share my life with. I wish you all your dreams -See you at the reunion!
